Educlipper
Educlipper technology allows students and teachers to organize information they find on the Internet.
The learning outcome could be to have students go access this site where the teacher can create different resources that cater to what the students can find helpful. Students can obtain this information and add their input to what they find on the same site. It holds a history so students can start a portfolio of information. This would be a great resource when students are doing research projects. The teacher can go to the site and see if the students are looking at appropriate sites and if the sites they reference are relevant. It also could be used to have collaborative assignments where the class can work together on a project, being edited and monitored by the teacher.
Two examples to use this technology to increase students learning:
1. Having students do a research project about the solar system. They can find websites and add them onto their educlipper website. After they have found all of their information, they are ready to begin to write a report.
2. The instructor could create an Educlipper site that helps students be better writers. Rules of grammar, definitions of figurative language and an appropriate graphic organizer can all be on one page. The students could use this information for their writing in all of the stages they are working in. If a student is struggling and needs extra time, the parent can be on the same page by also having access to go into the teacher created site.
